Instagram user ID finder

Every Instagram account has a number that never changes. The @handle can be sold, dropped or stolen; the number stays. Put in a username and get the ID.

Works on private accounts too. Paste the @handle or the profile URL.

Why the number matters more than the name

A username is rented. Change it and every old link to you breaks, and the name you dropped can be taken by somebody else the same day. That is the mechanic behind most impersonation: the familiar handle, a different account behind it. The numeric ID is the account's real identity and survives every rename.

So if you deal with an account that matters, a supplier, a client, a creator you pay, write down the ID once. Comparing it later is the cheapest fraud check there is.

Where you actually need it

Where to look next

The ID is the identity; everything else can change. If you are checking whether a lookalike handle is taken, the username checker answers that, the picture viewer shows the image the copy is probably reusing, and the audit shows whether the account behind the ID has a real audience.

Questions

Can I go the other way, from ID to username?

Not with this tool. That lookup is the one every scraper abuses, and it is the reason Instagram closed most public access in the first place.

Does it work for private accounts?

Yes. The ID is public on private accounts too, like the picture and the bio. The exception is a profile Instagram hides from logged-out visitors, usually for age restrictions: there the tool can read nothing, and says so.

Does the ID ever change?

No. Delete the account and the ID goes with it, but it is never reassigned or edited.
