Small utilities that do one thing each, built on the public part of a profile or on numbers you type in. No account, no password, and nothing that asks you to log in with Instagram, because nothing here needs to.

Where the numbers come from
- Numbers you type. The engagement rate calculator works them out in the page, and they never leave it.
- Profile lookups. Every other tool, and the calculator's "Fill from Instagram" button, asks our server, which asks Instagram for the public part of the profile: what a logged-out visitor sees.
- What our server keeps. A profile it has read, for six hours, so a burst of lookups does not go back to Instagram; a name with no account behind it, for ten minutes. The last good copy of a profile stays up to 30 days and is shown only while Instagram is refusing lookups, always with its date.
Some profiles come back with an error from Instagram's own servers instead of data, and at times Instagram refuses lookups from us altogether. When either happens the tools say which one it is, rather than guessing. It matters most on the username checker: "Instagram will not answer" is not the same as "nobody uses this name", and treating them as the same is how you lose a name you thought you had.
What this site will never do
- Ask for your Instagram password. No tool here needs it. A site that has you type it into its own form can then log in as you.
- Show you private posts. They are private. See the page about it.
- Publish anyone's email or phone number. Some APIs offer them. We do not use them and will not build on them.
